THE NUMBER ONE Reason Relationships Fail | Marriage Success

I realize it?s a bold statement to say THE NUMBER ONE reason relationships fail has been located. Well, it has been located and thousands are using this information to dramatically improve their relationships.

Before I get into it, let me tell you briefly about myself.?My name is Stan Dubin and I live in Clearwater, Florida.

I run a national counseling firm that sends highly-skilled counselors around the United States and Canada. We help individuals and couples improve their lives to their satisfaction.

Image2Here is a picture of my family?

On my left is my wife, Mary Ann. And that?s our daughter, Chelsea, to my right.

My wife and I have been married for 34 years. Has it been a smooth ride all the way through? No. There have been some tough spots, some very tough. But we applied the same information that is being made available to you here, and each time we did, our marriage improved dramatically.

So enough about me, let?s get on with it?

After extensively studying human relationships, L. Ron Hubbard said: ?Man has learned where he has agreed upon codes of conduct or what is proper, he survives, and where he has not agreed, he doesn?t survive.?

When people get together, in a relationship or in any kind of group situation, they make certain agreements with each other.

In the workplace we usually agree to be on time, to work hard, to be as productive as possible.

Wedding2In a marriage, we agree to be faithful, to be honest, to be supportive.

When people create a relationship (of any kind), agreements are essential to that relationship.

We may not put all of these agreements in writing, but they do exist.

THE NUMBER ONE Reason Relationships Fail

When we do something that ?breaks? any of these agreements, we KNOW that we?ve done so. We may try to convince ourselves that ?it was unavoidable? or ?the other person deserved it.? It doesn?t matter. We know that we?ve done something that, in some way, has violated an agreement of the relationship.

Unhappy_marriageWhen these agreements are broken?

The communication in the relationship goes down.

Sometimes a little.

Sometimes a lot.

There are all kinds and ?sizes? of broken agreements.

For example, here are two ?small? broken agreements that might occur in a marriage:

The husband agrees to take out the trash every Friday night and one Friday night, he doesn?t do so.

The wife agrees to use the credit card ONLY for essential items. One day she puts $50 on the card so that she can take the son to a baseball game.

And of course there are large broken agreements. An affair would be one obvious example.

So, we?ve got different kinds and different sizes of broken agreements.

Unhappy_marriage2

People do not just fall out of love with each other. That?s what they may say and that?s what they may feel, but factually they have both simply accumulated too many ?broken agreements.?

These do not have to be of a very serious nature. But over time, they can mount up and then the following happens:

Married couples separate or get divorced.

Lovers break up.

Friendships fall apart.

Kids treat their parents poorly (and vice versa).

Any type of relationship can be destroyed when there are too many ?broken agreements.?

Why am I so sure of this?

When thousands of people addressed this exact point in their relationship, things improved DRAMATICALLY.

If these broken agreements are THE problem, then what?s the solution?

When_the_thrill_is_goneAfter 25 years of helping individuals and couples, I wrote a book that I am not making available free as an eBook. The book is called:

When the Thrill Is Gone, How to Put the Life and Excitement Back Into Any Relationship

In this book is a very exact procedure that handles this problem of ?broken agreements.?

To get this free eBook, click here.

Is your marriage not doing well? Apply the information in Chapter 4 exactly the way it?s laid out, and you will feel much better about your marriage.

If your spouse also applies the information in Chapter 4, even better. But if your spouse does not, you will still feel enormously better.

Unhappy_marriage3Have you just had a big fight with your spouse?

Then go to Chapter 6. There are two simple but powerful procedures there to help defuse the fight.

Apply those procedures and you will feel much better.

Are you still upset about a previous relationship? Go to Chapter 10 and apply the two procedures there. If you follow those exactly, you will feel MUCH better. Many people have applied the two procedures in Chapter 10 and they were able to completely let go of the previous relationship and move on.

Speaking of moving on, are you looking to start a new relationship?

Chapters 11, 12 and 13 give you the information you need to make the right choice.

Are you upset with a close friend? A neighbor? A family member?

If you sit down and apply the information in Chapter 4, you will feel much better and be able to deal with the upset. Do NOT be surprised if the upset completely disappears. It happens quite often when this information is applied.

Click here to get a free copy of the book.
Happy_marriage2

Paul Silovsky from Topeka, Kansas said the following:

?My wife and I have applied the materials in Stan Dubin?s book several times throughout our marriage and each time we were able to resolve a marital problem.

?Sometimes these problems would seem rather daunting, but having the right information made a huge difference and actually made our relationship better than ever before! Yes, we strongly recommend the book.?

?

Happy_marriage3

Christina Panetta from Oakdale, New York had this to say:

?Restoring my relationship with Richard is the biggest win. I do know that it was meant for Richard and I to continue on our journey together.

?I just never realized how much my loss of communicating with him was impacting on other areas of my life. Thank you ? thank you ? thank you!!! for helping Richard and I find our way back to one another.?

?

Happy_marriage4

And finally, from Jeannette Buckles of Palm Harbor, Florida:

?In Oct 2007, Peter and I will be married twenty years. For both of us, this is our second marriage. Using the information in the book When the Thrill Is Gone has helped us to make this marriage a true success.

?When we first got together, we loved and cared for each other tremendously. And that love and care has continued to grow to this day. It?s a real joy to be this happily married.?

?

So there you go.

Click here and the eBook will be available to you in about a minute

Canada's Point2 adds foreclosures tab to real estate web portal ...

In a sign that the home foreclosure heartbreak has not abated, Canadian property portal Point2 has announced the release of a dedicated foreclosures tab on its Point2Homes website. Data for the section comes from a variety of sources including banks and local MLS?s, which can upload an automated feed to Point2Homes.

Point2Homes is Point2?s own classified site; the company also syndicates foreclosure inventory to more than 50 third party consumer partner sites and search engines.

Point2Homes has links to mini-sites covering every U.S. state but, as a Canada-based company, the Toronto area has the lion?s share of listed properties. Point2Homes also has links to countries around the world, but other than a few English-speaking countries (the U.K., Australia and South Africa), most of these have no data (a bit deceptive, in our opinion). On the other hand, at least there are no foreclosures either?

Santa Barbara, Calif. As part of an isolated indigenous group in central Bolivia, Tsimane men spend much of their time hunting, foraging, fishing, and clearing land by hand to grow crops. Their ability to maintain the physical activity required to survive each day might imply they have higher than average male testosterone levels.

Anthropologists at UC Santa Barbara and the University of Washington have found, however, that the baseline testosterone level of Tsimane men is 33 percent lower than that of men living in the United States, where life is physically less demanding. Also, in contrast to men in the U.S., the Bolivian foragers-farmers do not show declines in testosterone as they age. The researchers' findings appear today in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B.

According to Michael Gurven, the lives of the Tsimane offer a glimpse of how humans survived before industrialization and modern amenities. "Our lifestyle is now an anomaly, a major departure from our species' long-term existence as hunter-gatherers," said Gurven, professor of anthropology at UCSB and co-author of the paper. Gurven is also co-director of the Tsimane Health and Life History Project, a collaboration between UCSB and the University of New Mexico.

"Maintaining high levels of testosterone compromises the immune system, so it makes sense to keep it low in environments where parasites and pathogens are rampant, as they are where the Tsimane live," said Ben Trumble, a graduate student in anthropology at the University of Washington, and the paper's lead author.

That men living in the U.S. have greater levels of circulating testosterone represents an "evolutionarily novel spike," Trumble continued. The spike reflects how low levels of pathogens and parasites in the U.S. and other industrialized countries allow men to maintain higher testosterone levels without risk of infection. He also pointed out that while men in the U.S. show a decline in testosterone as they age, and the drop serves as a sentinel for age-related disease, Tsimane men maintain a stable testosterone level across their lifespan, and show little incidence of obesity, heart disease, and other illnesses associated with older age.

Despite lower levels of circulating testosterone under normal conditions, the forager-farmers do have something in common with U.S. men short-term spikes of testosterone during competition.

The researchers organized a soccer tournament for eight Tsimane teams, and discovered that Tsimane men experienced a 30 percent increase in testosterone immediately after a soccer game. An hour after the game, testosterone was still 15 percent higher than under normal conditions. Similar increases have been shown in men living in the U.S. or other industrialized countries following, sports competitions.

The study suggests that competition-linked bursts of testosterone are a fundamental aspect of human biology that persists even if it increases risk of sickness or infection. "What's interesting is that in spite of being in a more pathogenic environment, it's still important to raise testosterone for short-bursts of energy and competition," Gurven said.

As to whether higher levels of the male hormone would offer a competitive advantage in sports, Trumble suspects that because U.S. men are "taller and weigh more than Tsimane men, and tend to be exposed to fewer parasites and pathogens, they would probably have a competitive advantage, regardless of circulating testosterone."

###

Other co-authors of the paper include Christopher von Rueden, a post-doctoral scholar and researcher in the Department of Anthropology at UCSB; Kathleen O'Connor and Eric Smith of the University of Washington; and Daniel Cummings of the University of New Mexico.

The work was funded by the National Institute of Child Health & Development and the National Institute on Aging.

?New Rules to Get Rich in the New Economy
There is little doubt that the world has seen tremendous change over the past century with the rate of change accelerating over the last few decades. This change has affected all aspects of life from the home to the office. The result is that processes that were part and parcel of life in yesteryears have either changed so much that they are unrecognizable or have moved on to complete redundancy. But with the changing technology that many are now so used to, not as many have recognized that a...

Home Staging and Design | The Board Magazine

By Lino Dearth

You need to make the perceived value of a home that has recently been put onto the market higher and the most certain way to accomplish this is through home staging. In the last twenty years, a number of sellers and real estate professionals nation-wide have realized that home staging or home doctoring is a treasure. That is the magic number when it comes to selling at a better price. A property that is listed for too long will look like a ?cold property? to potential buyers and real estate professionals and it will thus be more difficult to sell. Home staging design tips If you want to fix up your own home before you list it, there are a few home staging tricks that will make fixing up your home much easier and will also make buyers think that it is the perfect space for them:

Start by effecting changes that impact on buyers immediately. You need to allow them to imagine living in your home freely and without any distractions. You should get rid of a lot of your personal knick knacks before showing your house. If buyers can clearly see your identity all over the home, they are less likely to be able to see theirs on it.Staging your home and slowly leaving it at the same time can sometimes be emotionally difficult. If you find that this is the case for you, stop the process and then regroup. If you need to take it a bit slower, allow yourself to do so but you should never completely stop. Make sure that you maintain the momentum.

The simplest way to increase the perceived value, you need to put on a fresh lick of paint on the interior and exterior. You do need to be careful about the colors that you choose when painting. Neutral colors are all that you should be considering. These have wide appeal and that is why you should consider these when the home is to be sold. Each of the home?s different aspects needs to go through a thorough inspection ? including the state of the floors. A floor is a good indicator of how well the owner has looked after the home over the years. If your floor appears to be old or ugly and worn, potential buyers will be wary of buying the house straight away ? the flooring is that important. It is really greatly important so make sure to check all surfaces before listing the house. Broken tiles need to be repaired and old carpets need to be replaced.

Trayvon Martin supporters start Skittles protest

Joe Raedle / Getty Images

Protesters hold cans of ice tea and Skittles which is what the 17-year-old Trayvon Martin is reported to have been carrying when he was killed by neighborhood watch person, George Zimmerman.

By msnbc.com staff

The death of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed 17-year-old shot earlier this month by a neighborhood watch volunteer, has prompted a protest aimed at the police department that initially investigated the case. The weapon: Skittles.

A campaign mounted through Facebook and Twitter is asking people to mail packages of the candy to Bill Lee, police chief of the Sanford Police Department, which released the man who shot Martin after questioning. The campaign has been touted at the DailyKos.com and theurbandaily.com.

They?ve chosen Skittles because that?s what Martin was carrying when George Zimmerman, 28, spotted Martin, a black teen who was walking home from a convenience store at night in a gated community. Zimmerman told police he shot Martin in self-defense after a confrontation.

Story: Mom: Trayvon Martin was killed because of 'the color of his skin'

Martin?s death set off protests around the United States from people demanding that Zimmerman?s actions be investigated. More than 818,000 people have signed a petition on Change.org, a social action website, calling for his arrest, Reuters reported.

At a rally Wednesday evening in New York attended by Martin's parents, protesters held signs decorated with Skittles.

In a statement, a spokeswoman for Skittles said: "We are deeply saddened by the news of Trayvon Martin's death and express our sincere condolences to his family and friends. We also respect their privacy and feel it inappropriate to get involved or comment further as we would never wish for our actions to be perceived as an attempt of commercial gain following this tragedy.?

Responding to the outcry, the Florida state attorney announced Tuesday that a grand jury would investigate the teen?s death.

Drillers, activists not buying Obama's energy pitch

President Barack Obama speaks at the TransCanada Stillwater pipe yard in Cushing, Okla., on Thursday.

By msnbc.com staff and news services

CUSHING, Okla. -- Touting an "all-of-the-above" energy policy, President Barack Obama traveled to this oil town on Thursday to show his support for the southern leg of the controversial Keystone oil pipeline proposed?from Canada?to refineries along the Gulf Coast.

"I am directing my administration to cut through red tape, break through bureaucratic hurdles, and make this project a priority," he said with?dozens of pipes stacked up behind him at a yard used by TransCanada, the company?proposing the?Keystone pipeline.

But neither the oil industry, which insists Obama could send stronger market signals to lower prices at the pump, nor environmentalists, who cite the climate impact of fossil fuels, were on board.

"A true all-of-the-above energy strategy would include greater access to areas that are currently off limits, a regulatory and permitting process that supported reasonable timelines for development, and immediate approval of the Keystone XL pipeline to bring more Canadian oil to U.S. refineries," Jack Gerard, president of the American Petroleum Institute, said in a statement. "This would send a positive signal to the market and could help put downward pressure on prices."

Obama in his speech noted that domestic production has risen during his term. "America is producing more oil today than at any time in the last eight years," he said. "Over the last three years, I've directed my administration to open up millions of acres for oil and gas exploration across 23 different states. We're opening up more than 75 percent of our potential oil resources offshore. We've quadrupled the number of operating oil rigs to a record high."

As for the overall Keystone project, Obama said the delay in the northern?leg came about because Nebraska lawmakers?-- both Republicans and Democrats --?raised concerns about the potential impact on the state's water supply if a spill happened. "So to be extra careful that the construction of the pipeline in an area like that wouldn't put the health and safety of the American people at risk, our experts said that we needed a certain amount of time to review the project," he said Thursday.

Data show increasing US oil supply won't lower prices
Keystone pipeline could raise oil prices for some

Environmentalists, for their part, oppose the pipeline because it promotes the expanded use of fossil fuels, which emit greenhouse gases tied to global warming.?The activist group 350.org?planned to make that?case by protesting Obama's visit to Ohio State University later Thursday.

David Greenberg, of Greenberg Capital, discusses oil's direction and President Obama's energy plan.

Some have even made the argument that Keystone's southern leg won't help domestic oil producers much since most of the oil will be coming from Canada.

It "simply is not designed to move significant volumes of domestic crude," Anthony Swift, an international law attorney for the Natural?Resources Defense Council, wrote in a blog post.?"The 900,000 barrel per day (bpd) pipeline only has two comparatively small on-ramps in the United States," he added, citing company documents filed with the U.S. "The first, in Montana, includes an on-ramp for a maximum of 100,000 bpd of crude. The second in Cushing, Oklahoma, allows a maximum of 150,000 bpd ... That means that at most, little more than a quarter of the oil on Keystone XL would be from domestic producers."

Republicans dismissed Obama's move as a publicity stunt that made little difference to the timeline of the southern project or the problem of U.S. energy security. "He's taking credit for going forward on the only portion of the pipeline that he doesn't need to approve," said Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., at a press conference. "This is literally straddling both sides of the issue." Hoeven has led the charge in the Senate to pass legislation that would bypass the administration and approve the full pipeline.

Construction of?Keystone's 485-mile southern leg is expected to start this spring. TransCanada plans to submit a new proposal for the?1,200-mile northern leg, after which federal agencies will weigh in.

Reuters contributed to this report.

Professional Consultation A Must To Avail Tax Relief

Many individuals fail to pay their taxes on time, due to their bad financial position. Delaying of tax payment or non-payment of tax is strictly considered by the state. A separate body named IRS (Internal Revenue Services) then initiates the process of tax collection. Many individuals, due to their negligence and lack of knowledge do not understand the IRS tax collection process and further delay the tax payment. This ultimately leads to seizure of one's property. A proper guidance is thus required for tax relief that helps individuals to pay their taxes on time and protect their property from getting seized by the state.

The IRS tax collection process, starts by sending letters to the defaulters place asking to pay the pending tax within 15 days. After fifteen days, another letter is sent to remind the individual about the tax. Further, final letter is sent, which states that the individual will either be contacted by the IRS revenue officer or will receive a phone call about the severity of the matter.

The revenue officer, talks to the business partner, family, shareholders, neighbours and every individual concerned with the individual who has failed to respond to the letters sent by IRS. This might put the individual in a odd position, resulting in failure of decision making on time.

If debt relief services are not availed on time, the individuals may be subjected to tax levy. Under tax levy, IRS may seize car, house, land, building, retirement accounts, dividends, bank accounts, wages and commissions. The state can even sell the property to avail its tax amount. Thus, immediate action must be taken, in consultation with an expert to resolve the matter as soon as possible.

It is strongly recommended that help of an expert must be taken, who has relevant experience in providing debt relief. A professional representation of the matter can prevent levies. Often, if the levy is already imposed, the professionals can help in its partial release. IRS proceedings and dealing with the revenue officer is a tedious task, which can be eased with the help of an expert who has already worked with IRS.

These experts have years of experience in providing tax relief consultations to the individuals. With their expertise in the domain they protect the individuals from tax lein and tax levy, saving their investment and property. They study the financial situation of the individual and offer appropriate solutions in accordance with it. Under their guidance, individuals can mend their ways and avoid such situations in future.

Victims of French shooting to be buried in Israel

JERUSALEM (AP) ? The victims of a shooting attack at a Jewish school in France will be brought to Israel for burial, the Foreign Ministry said Monday. Israelis condemned the shooting that killed four Jews ? a rabbi and three children.

Israel is honoring a request by the families of those killed, and the bodies will be flown to Israel as quickly as possible, said ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor.

In Monday's attack in the southern city of Toulouse, a gunman on a motorcycle opened fire with two handguns at the Ozar Hatorah school, killing a rabbi, his two sons and the daughter of the school's principal.

Palmor identified the victims as Jonathan Sandler, 30, sons Gabriel and Arieh, ages four and five, and 7-year-old Miriam Monsonego, the principal's daughter.

The attacks shocked Israelis. Video of the aftermath dominated newscasts. Israel's prime minister and other officials expressed outrage at the bloodshed.

Sandler and his family moved from Israel to France last year.

"He was a very happy, friendly and well loved guy," said Aaron Getz, who studied with Sandler in Jerusalem. "He gave everything of himself to the Jewish community."

"This is hatred of Jews. Why else would anyone shoot at a Jewish school," said Sandler's cousin, Caroline Laustria, in Israel.

The identity of the gunman is not known, and police are investigating.

News that the gun used Monday was the same used in attacks last week around Toulouse fueled suspicions that a killer is targeting French minorities, and not only Jews. The dead and injured in the earlier attacks were paratroopers of North African and Caribbean origin.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the school attack at a meeting of his Likud Party on Monday.

"It's too early to say what the precise background for this act of murder is, but I think that we can't rule out that there was a strong, murderous anti-Semitic motive here," Netanyahu said.

"I'm sure that Nicolas Sarkozy, the president of France, and his government will do their utmost to find the killer, and we in Israel will do everything to help them in this task," Netanyahu said.

President Sarkozy called the attack the worst school shooting in French history.

In 1982, Palestinians burst into the popular Jo Goldenberg Jewish restaurant in Paris, spraying machine-gun fire that killed six people, including two Americans, and injured 21.

In 2006, Ilan Halimi, a 23-year-old French Jew, was kidnapped, tortured and killed.

France is sensitive toward its Jewish community because of its World War II history, when French authorities aided Nazi occupiers in deporting Jewish citizens to death camps.

French prosecutors were studying possible terrorist links, but the motive for all three attacks was unclear.

Danny Yatom, a former chief of Israel's Mossad spy agency, said that if it turns out to have been a terror attack rather than a hate crime, he believes Iran or its Lebanese proxy Hezbollah are likely suspects. Yatom said assailants prefer Jewish civilian targets because they are easier to hit than Israeli ones.

Effective World Government Will Be Needed to Stave Off Climate Catastrophe

Receding Himalayan glaciers

Almost six years ago, I was the editor of a single-topic issue on energy for Scientific American that included an article by Princeton University?s Robert Socolow that set out a well-reasoned plan for how to keep atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations below a planet-livable threshold of 560 ppm. The issue came replete with technical solutions that ranged from a hydrogen economy to space-based solar.

If I had it to do over, I?d approach the issue planning differently, my fellow editors permitting. I would scale back on the nuclear fusion and clean coal, instead devoting at least half of the available space for feature articles to articles on psychology, sociology, economics and political science. Since doing that issue, I?ve come to the conclusion that the technical details are the easy part. It?s the social engineering that?s the killer. Moon shots and Manhattan Projects are child?s play compared to needed changes in the way we behave.

A policy article authored by several dozen scientists appeared online March 15 in Science to acknowledge this point: ?Human societies must now change course and steer away from critical tipping points in the Earth system that might lead to rapid and irreversible change. This requires fundamental reorientation and restructuring of national and international institutions toward more effective Earth system governance and planetary stewardship.?

The report summarized 10 years of research evaluating the capability of international institutions to deal with climate and other environmental issues, an assessment that found existing capabilities to effect change sorely lacking. The authors called for a ?constitutional moment? at the upcoming 2012 U.N. Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio in June to reform world politics and government. Among the proposals: a call to replace the largely ineffective U.N. Commission on Sustainable Development with a council that reports to the U.N. General Assembly, at attempt to better handle emerging issues related to water, climate, energy and food security. The report advocates a similar revamping of other international environmental institutions.

Unfortunately, far more is needed. To be effective, a new set of institutions would have to be imbued with heavy-handed, transnational enforcement powers. There would have to be consideration of some way of embracing head-in-the-cloud answers to social problems that are usually dismissed by policymakers as academic naivete. In principle, species-wide alteration in basic human behaviors would be a sine qua non, but that kind of pronouncement also profoundly strains credibility in the chaos of the political sphere. How do we overcome our hard-wired tendency to ?discount? the future: valuing what we have today more than what we might receive tomorrow? Would any institution be capable of instilling a permanent crisis mentality lasting decades, if not centuries? How do we create new institutions with enforcement powers way beyond the current mandate of the U.N.? How do we ensure against a malevolent dictator who might abuse the power of such organizations?

Behavioral economics and other forward-looking disciplines in the social sciences try to grapple with weighty questions. But they have never taken on a challenge of this scale, recruiting all seven billion of us to act in unison. The ability to sustain change globally across the entire human population over periods far beyond anything ever attempted would appear to push the relevant objectives well beyond the realm of the attainable. If we are ever to cope with climate change in any fundamental way, radical solutions on the social side is where we must focus, though. The relative efficiency of the next generation of solar cells is trivial by comparison.
